For my digital image editing project, I chose to use the free web tool, Pixlr. The screen shots, feature list, and product examples were the first things that caught my eye while I was reviewing web tools. I waam impressed by this tool because its layout, options and features are similar to Photoshop. With all of the tools and effects to choose from, I knew that I would easily be able to meet all of this unit’s instructional goals.

To start editing my picture, I cropped out the unwanted and unneeded parts of the picture using the crop tool. I changed the exposer time of the picture to make it darker. One of my favorite tools on this site is the "Color Replace Tool." This tool made changing the man's coat from green and gold to bue and orange very easy. The tool would only change once color at a time, so when I clicked on the dark green, it would only change that shade of dark green and not any of the surrounding colors. I also used the paint bucket to drop colors onto the picture. Using he brush tool made getting into small areas to change color simple. The smallest brush tool size was the perfect tool to use to change the colors of the girls headband and the lettring on the man's hat. I used the vignette effext to fade the corners of the picture out to back. Finally, I used the nose effect to make the picture fuzzy.

As I used the site, I found that its reliability was not what I thought it was when I first evaluated it. There was a slight delay while switching from tool to tool. Luckily, the problem was only annoying and it did not require me to refresh the page and lose all of my previous unsaved edits. The biggest problem I had was when I tried to save images. Every time I tried to save, and error would occur causing the internet to fail, and Pixlr would lose my image. I had to use my computer's Snip Tool to save the picture.

I would use Pixlr again because it was easy to use and had many tools, effects, and features to use. The quality of the finished product was very good. Any problems that I did have could be easily fixed with a small dose of patience or another computer tool. I enjoyed using Pixlr, and I plan on using it again in the future.
